Power of Attorney
This legal document authorizes an individual (the “Attorney in Fact”) to act on your behalf on financial or property matters. You are in control of the power granted through this document. A Power of Attorney document is a powerful tool to help ensure you are cared for should you become incapacitated or unable to care for yourself. It is important to have a Power of Attorney to ensure someone you trust is managing your finances if you are unable.
Expungements
In Minnesota, an expungement is the sealing of a criminal record. Once sealed, the record cannot be disclosed or viewed by the public except under court order. An expungement does not mean your record is physically destroyed. Certain criminal convictions cannot be expunged. January 1, 2015, Minnesota’s expungement statute was expanded to allow more types of convictions to be expunged.
